Michelle joined CCT in December 2008 as a member of the WGBH and Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) evaluation teams. Before joining EDC, Michelle worked as an analyst for a network of charter schools in Harlem, where she designed assessments and analyzed student, classroom and school-level data. Michelle taught English as a Second Language in the Slovak Republic, Spain and New York. She holds a master’s degree in International Education Development from Teachers College, Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. Michelle’s research has focused on the efficacy of full-day kindergarten, the rural-urban achievement gap, and the role of microfinance in promoting investment in education.
