Women ADVANCE at USM Initiative
2012 to 2015

The goal of the Women ADVANCE at USM Initiative is to increase the representation and success of women faculty in STEM and Social Sciences disciplines at the University of Southern Maine (USM). Toward this end, the University of Southern Maine is undertaking a two-year self-assessment study to gauge the current status of women STEM and Social Sciences faculty. The study will supply both quantitative and qualitative information to better understand the extent of the barriers to recruitment, employment, retention, and promotion of women in STEM and Social Sciences faculty positions.

CCT serves as external evaluator for this project. In this role, we are documenting the project’s progress toward its goals and the impact that the self-assessment study has on key stakeholders, including administrators and faculty.
